Found a Northern Virginia Home by Address? 6 Checks Before You Tour

by Kamal Parakh

SAVE THIS BEFORE YOUR NEXT TOUR

Found a Northern Virginia home by searching its address? Save the listing link and the time you checked it. Then work through these six checks before arranging a tour.

THE QUICK RULE

An address search helps you find a home. It does not confirm that the home is available, that every detail is current, or that the property fits your needs.

CHECK 01

Match the complete address

Compare street number, street name, city, ZIP code, and unit number. Keep the MLS number if available. Ask for the original link when an address comes from a message or social post.

CHECK 02

Confirm the current listing status

Ask your agent to check availability, asking price, and showing access. Saved screenshots and search snippets may be older than the current listing. Start with Parakh Homes’ property search.

CHECK 03

Verify the details that affect your decision

List the size, room layout, renovations, and parking you are relying on. Ask what records support them. Photos do not confirm system condition or permitted alterations; those questions may need records or an inspection.

CHECK 04

Compare the full monthly cost

Ask your lender for a property-specific estimate. Confirm taxes, insurance, association dues, and extra fees. Review association documents for restrictions. The CFPB’s homebuying guide explains financing and loan estimates.

CHECK 05

Check the address against your routine

Test the commute at the hours you travel. If school assignment matters, confirm the exact address and school year with the district. For Loudoun, start with LCPS and county resources; elsewhere, use the relevant local offices.

CHECK 06

Send your agent one useful message

Include the full address, listing link, moving timeline, and three must-haves. Ask which facts still need checking before a tour.

YOUR PROPERTY QUESTION

“I’m interested in [full address + listing link]. My target move is [month]. My must-haves are [three items]. Can you confirm its status and help me check costs, layout, and commute before we tour?”

What if the home has already sold?

Identify what you liked: location, layout, home type, or another feature. Use those details to find current alternatives. An old sale price does not describe today’s options.

If you are a Nepali or Indian buyer new to the region, bring any questions about the local process. You do not need to know every term before reaching out; the same applies to anyone making an unfamiliar move.

This checklist does not confirm the status or condition of any specific property. Representation and showing access should be clarified before a tour.
